Engineering the Solution
We initiated an Emergency Rescue. Within 30 minutes, our senior engineers identified that a poorly optimized external API call to their EHR system was blocking PHP-FPM workers. We implemented Redis caching for static responses and moved the blocking API calls to asynchronous Laravel Queues via AWS SQS.
