Merchants in 2026 want AI that actually knows their catalog — not generic chatbots. We built an AI shopping assistant for a Shopify store that uses RAG over product descriptions, metafields, and FAQs, powered by Claude API, with a floating chat widget and admin dashboard for conversation review.

Engineering the Solution
We indexed the Shopify product catalog into a vector store, built a RAG pipeline with Claude API for grounded answers, created a theme app extension chat widget, and added webhook sync to keep the index fresh on product updates. Rate limiting and prompt guardrails prevent off-topic or hallucinated responses.
