UI/UX Designer

Posted 9 Aug 2026

We're looking for a part-time freelance UI/UX designer for client projects and our own products, including EliteLedger and e-commerce storefronts. You'll design interfaces that are clear, usable and based on what users actually need, not only polished screens.

About This Role

A freelance, remote, part-time role for a designer who wants steady project work without a full-time commitment. Hours are flexible; what matters is quality and meeting agreed deadlines. You work directly with the engineers who build your designs, so nothing gets lost in handover.

What You'll Do

  • Design web and mobile interfaces for client projects: Shopify storefronts, SaaS dashboards and admin panels
  • Create wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs in Figma
  • Work directly with the engineers so designs are ready to build
  • Maintain and extend design systems so projects stay consistent
  • Join client discovery calls when design input is needed early

What We're Looking For

  • 1.5–2 years of hands-on UI/UX design experience
  • A portfolio with real, shipped web or mobile products
  • Strong Figma skills: components, auto-layout and prototyping
  • Solid understanding of responsive, mobile-first design
  • A basic sense of how designs become code: spacing systems and design tokens

Nice to Have

  • E-commerce design experience (Shopify, Magento or WooCommerce)
  • Familiarity with Tailwind CSS conventions
  • An eye for motion and micro-interactions

Tools You'll Use

  • Figma
  • FigJam
  • Slack
  • Jira
  • Loom

How We Work

  • Remote-first, with async updates in Slack and a weekly planning call
  • Work tracked in Jira or GitHub Projects; code reviewed before it ships
  • Direct contact with the engineers and the founder, no layers of managers
  • Real client projects and our own products, so the work ends up in your portfolio

Hiring Process

  1. 01

    Apply

Send the form on the job page with your portfolio or GitHub. A short note on work you're proud of helps more than a long CV.

  2. 02

    Intro call

30 minutes with our founder about your work, the role and how we work.

  3. 03

    Practical task

A short task based on the kind of work you'd actually do, sized to take no more than 3 hours.

  4. 04

    Decision

We tell you the outcome either way, with feedback if you want it.
